Kent Johnson

Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Coach Johnson got his coaching career started in Las Vegas, Nevada. After spending several seasons as an assistant at Sierra Vista High School, Kent took over as the head coach of the Mountain Lions. After 3 seasons and a 67-22 record including a trip to the Nevada State Championships, Coach Johnson joined the nationally respected powerhouse Bishop Gorman High School program.  An amazing staff and roster, which included several NCAA Division 1 prospects and a couple of future NBA players, won a Nevada State title, the first of a streak now standing at 7 consecutive championships. The following year Coach Johnson and his family relocated to Edmonton, where he joined Coach Craddock and the Golden Bears staff at the University of Alberta.

Now an eight-year veteran of Canadian University Sports, one of Coach Johnson’s highlights was working with Jordan Baker and building a relationship that continues today with Coach Baker and his involvement in youth development as well as with Golden Bears basketball.
